Heritage conducts its business through committees,
each chaired by a member of Session. Our committees take responsibility for the following tasks:

Worship: All matters of worship, music, baptisms, communion, ushering special services, bulletins, and sanctuary furnishings are under the direction of this committee. This includes responsibility for weddings and for lay leadership in worship, for acolytes, and for the choir, the choir director, and the organist/pianist.

Christian Education: This committee coordinates and directs all matters pertaining to recruiting and training teachers, reviewing and selecting curriculum and supplies for the church's education programs, and assuring that educational goals in theology, Bible study, social issues, personal growth, discipleship, and spirituality are offered at various times.

Mission: This committee is responsible for promoting and interpreting the mission of the church locally, nationally, and globally. They coordinate special offerings to support the missions of our denomination and they educate the congregation on issues such as hunger, the homeless, and peacemaking. They work to involve members in local outreach ministries.

Fellowship and Membership: This committee is responsible for planning fellowship events that celebrate our life together as a congregation, as well as events that provide opportunities for smaller gatherings which help people feel welcomed and allow for closer friendships to develop. This committee is concerned with helping every person find their place in the fellowship and service of the church. Their activities include new member classes, support of any fellowship groups, and special meals or times of celebration which are not covered by other committees.

Stewardship: This committee is responsible for all matters related to the financial needs of the church. It conducts the annual Stewardship Campaign and oversees budgetary and fiscal matters. It keeps the congregation informed of the church's financial needs and of the importance of year-round stewardship of time, talents, and treasures.

Building and Grounds: This committee is responsible for the care, maintenance, and use of our church facilities, as well as establishing long term goals related to any growing needs for space.

Personnel: This committee oversees all church personnel matters affecting compensated staff. They review the performance of the professional staff, set personnel policies, and approve support staff salaries.

Nominations: This committee recruits and nominates people to serve in various church officies. It is composed of one elder, one deacon, and three members-at-large from the congregation.
